In 2016, David Lama and Conrad Anker set out to climb Lunag Ri, a stunning and unclimbed 6,907-meter peak on the border of Nepal and Tibet. They retreated just shy of the summit. The pair returned in 2017, determined to finish the climb. Despite prime conditions and all the knowledge gathered during their last attempt, the endeavor came to a sudden halt when Anker had a heart attack on the mountain.
