Nathan Betts writes: Rock climbing is a big part of our lives. When the climbing gyms shut, we had to rethink our relationship with the sport. There were no projects. There were no social meet-ups. There was no climbing. I asked Jenn Sends, Mid Nowhere, Athena Mellor, and the Climbing Nomads to share their experiences of lockdown. From lockdown training schedules to yoga for climbers, we’ve been finding ways to keep connected with climbing from a distance. Listening to my friends talk about not climbing was definitely reassuring for me. I think that sense of community and shared experience helps to keep psyche high.
