On February 24, Adam Ondra made the FA of Underground Dreaming, a link-up of Underground (5.14d/9a) into Pure Dreaming (5.14d/9a). Of note, Pure Dreaming was Ondra’s 100th 5.14d ascent, according to 8a.nu. Watch the first ascent of the link-up in this largely unedited video (there are a few cuts during rests). You’ll notice that at 49 seconds Ondra clips in direct to a bolt so he can pull the rope through the previous draws and start a new belay from that point. This is to reduce rope drag on the second of half of the route. He does this without weighting the bolt.
