In November 2018, Shawn Raboutou claimed the first ascent of Off the Wagon Sit (8C+/V16) in Val Bavona, Switzerland, an extension of Off the Wagon (8B+/V14). The original boulder problem, known for its burly campus traverse, starts from a standing position on the landowner’s wagon—hence the name—and was first climbed in 2012 by Nalle Hukkataival. Raboutou’s sit start (still from the wagon) proposes to add two full grades to the explosive climb, which would make it the hardest boulder problem in Switzerland and one of the hardest in the world.
