The South Star Wall at Donner Summit near Lake Tahoe, California, is a world-class sport climbing cliff where the evolution of hard rock climbing in America is written on the crag like hieroglyphics. Taste the Bronco is a link-up of a Hidetaka Suzuki route from 1987 and a Don Welsh route from the 1990. Both routes are fully bolted but Jonathan Guy thought it would be fun to give it a go using only natural protection, creating one hard trad climb in the process.
