In October, 2016, Stefano Ghisolfi made the third ascent of Jungle Boogie, in Ceuse, France. This is the story of his redpoint. Jungle Boogie was first climbed by Adam Ondra in 2012, and Sachi Amma made the second ascent in 2015. A 2012 report of Ondra’s ascent on Climbing.com described the route: “The first half of Jungle Boogie requires long reaches on good holds up to the second bolt, then 20 moves of big moves on tiny crimps without any rests. The second half climbs an easy vertical wall no harder than 5.12c.”
Ghisolfie’s ascent comes a year after he sent the nearby Biographie, the world’s first 5.15a and a benchmark for the grade.
