In January 2019, the strong barefoot climber Charles Albert completed his longstanding Fontainebleau project, proposing the mythical V17 grade. A year later, Ryohei Kameyama repeated the line and suggested a downgrade to V16/V17. Kameyama did preface his suggestion, saying that he hadn’t climbed many high end boulders previously, but he had tried Nalle Hukkataival’s Burden of Dreams and believed that problem to be harder. Watch Albert’s barefoot ascent of No Kpote Only above, and if you want to nail down the true grade, you’ll just have to repeat the problem for yourself.
