VIDEO: Juliet Campbell, Age 11, Styles Her First 5.13b

At age 11, Juliet Campbell has been climbing practically since before she was born. As she says in this film by Eric Fallecker, her mother taught climbing to a military group while pregnant. Tiffany Levine Campbell and Jason Campbell, Juliet’s parents, were leading climber-competitors in the 1990s and have remained strong.
“They are such a great family,” Fallecker says. “I was very inspired by Tiffany and Juliet’s relationship to climbing.”
Juliet, age 11, mostly climbs indoors, but in the film has a day out on Ghetto Blaster (5.13b), Malibu Creek State Park, California.
“The day before Juliet sent the climb, she got on it twice for the first time and almost sent. So I brought all the camera gear out the next day, because we all knew she could send the climb on the next go,” Fallecker says.
As soon as Juliet got off this route, he says, she decided to start projecting the 5.13a right next door, Ghetto Crossing. These are her first 5.13s outdoors.
