“Autumn is here. Leaves are falling and projects too,” wrote Adam Ondra on Instagram. Fresh off his send of Silence, the world’s first 5.15d, Ondra is back home in the Czech Republic ticking hard boulders. Here, he makes the first ascent of Drift (8c/V15) in Moravský kras, a nature preserve north of Brno. It may not be the most aesthetic piece of stone—there’s a plaque bolted under the finish—but as Ondra said, “There are a few pretty interesting holds worth seeing.” We’d point to the heinous two-finger lock-off.
