After 10 years, Chris Sharma’s Es Pontas has a second ascent. During a 4-week trip to Mallorca, Slovenian climber Jernej Kruder sent the route on his 39th attempt. Sharma took four trips over three years to complete the route, which was made famous in the Big Up Productions film King Lines. Es Pontas includes a 7-foot dyno 35 feet above the sea, features difficult, sustained climbing through the 55-foot mark, and tops out at 65 feet. Sharma neglected to grade the route, though in a recent interview he referred to it as 5.15. Kruder similarly wouldn’t put down a concrete number. He speculates it’s around 9a/5.14d.
