Jonathan Siegrist is on an incredible streak. In March of 2020 he completed the first ascent of One Hundred Proof (5.15a) at Mount Potosi’s Clear Light Cave, and on November he made the first ascent of Full Metal Brisket (5.15a), a longstanding project at the New River Gorge. On October 12, in between those two ticks, Siegrist announced what would be his hardest ascent of the year: Nu World. He declined to grade the route at the time, only saying that it was “without question one of my absolute hardest.” Siegrist, who previously completed Jumbo Love (5.15b) and La Planta de Shiva (5.15b), has since settled on 5.15a/b. Watch his FA in the video above and stay tuned for more—Nu World is located at a new crag near Las Vegas, which Siegrist says is stacked with potential. “The really exciting thing is that this is probably the easiest project on this section of the wall,” he wrote on Instagram.
