Nalle Hukkataival made the first ascent of Kesäturkki (8c, 5.14b) located at Punkaharju, Finland, in 2016. The deep water solo route follows a 45-degree wall above the lake and has two cruxes—the heady upper crux comes at 12 meters. Watch Sami Koponen make the route’s second ascent above.
“Finding my inner peace on the middle edge before the upper crux was [a] surreal experience,” Koponen wrote on Instagram. “Big up to Nalle for establishing this sick route.”
